Housing Resources: Participants receive support and training to live independently or with housemate. We assist participant in applying for housing through local resources. We teach participants how to manage their housing lease and interact with their landlord and neighbors. We also teach participants how to procure first/last month’s rent and security deposits. Our staff can assist in planning, assembling, move and coordination of utilities and other benefits. Participants are trained to shop for groceries and household items and even taught to decorate their home.
Money Management: Training in making and living within a realistic individual budget. Participants learn banking skills and how to pay routine and not-so-routine household bills. Assigned instructors teach how to use a cell phone, a calculator and the internet to do their banking.
Nutrition/Meal Planning/Meal Preparation/Grooming: Participants are taught the food pyramid (basic food groups)

the necessity for monitoring fats, sugar/salt intake and appropriate food portions control. Participants learn proper storage and safe, hygienic preparation of food. Participants are trained in appropriate use of household appliances such as stove, oven, microwave, can openers, etc. Instructors assist participant in preparing appropriate recipes. Adaptation such as pictures, color coding, and custom filing system.
